Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.10% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 17.42% or 0.093 points to trade at 0.627 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 4.65% or 0.400 points to end at 9.000 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 4.58% or 0.17 points to 3.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which lost 1.66% or 0.080 points to trade at 4.740 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 1.37% or 0.020 points to end at 1.440 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) shed 1.29% or 0.006 points to 0.459.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 26 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.18% or 2.25 to $1229.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $49.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.0926, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8444.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 98.97.
