Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 2.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 8.05% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.2550 at the close. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 5.30% or 0.028 points to end at 0.556 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 5.26% or 0.009 points to 0.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 8.71% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.262 in late trade. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 7.06% or 0.060 points to end at 0.790 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) shed 6.04% or 0.090 points to 1.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 47 and 7 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.24% or 2.95 to $1210.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.72% or 0.32 to hit $44.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.35 to trade at $47.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1418, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8894.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.84.
