Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr), which rose 7.27% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.950 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 2.88% or 0.004 points to end at 0.143 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 2.86% or 0.050 points to 1.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 10.00% or 0.2600 points to trade at 2.3400 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 9.55% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.1610 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) shed 7.00% or 0.84 points to 12.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 34 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.35% or 4.75 to $1349.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $44.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $47.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1243, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8421.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 94.93.
