Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Food and Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which rose 6.94% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.077 at the close. Meanwhile, Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) added 3.86% or 0.27 points to end at 7.27 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 3.10% or 0.04 points to 1.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were F.G. Europe (AT:ESKr), which fell 10.00% or 0.062 points to trade at 0.558 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 5.00% or 0.007 points to end at 0.133 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 4.17% or 0.001 points to 0.023.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 47 to 42 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.50 to $1166.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.93% or 0.91 to hit $48.01 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.43 to trade at $50.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1374, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.7461.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.84.
