Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Durables, Technology and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.51% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which rose 4.97% or 15.75 points to trade at 332.85 at the close. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) added 3.45% or 60.50 points to end at 1814.50 and Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE) was up 3.40% or 13.95 points to 423.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI), which lost 1.75% or 6.65 points to trade at 372.60 in late trade. Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) declined 1.30% or 3.65 points to end at 276.40 and UPL Ltd (NS:UPLL) shed 0.97% or 7.55 points to 774.20.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (BO:APSE) which rose 3.71% to 424.45, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was up 3.36% to settle at 540.00 and Lupin Ltd (BO:LUPN) which gained 2.47% to close at 899.15.
The worst performers were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which was down 0.83% to 197.70 in late trade, ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which lost 0.70% to settle at 312.60 and State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which was down 0.60% to 306.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 917 to 693 and 20 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1657 rose and 1199 declined, while 120 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.25% to 13.1125.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.23% or 3.00 to $1318.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.84% or 0.52 to hit $61.49 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.51 to trade at $67.56 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.00% to 63.370, while EUR/INR fell 0.20% to 76.3599.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 91.78.
