Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.42% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 4.98% or 1.06 points to trade at 22.35 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 3.23% or 0.86 points to end at 27.48 and Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) was up 3.06% or 0.56 points to 18.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 1.31% or 0.18 points to trade at 13.61 in late trade. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) declined 0.81% or 0.0280 points to end at 3.4120 and Terna (MI:TRN) shed 0.70% or 0.034 points to 4.856.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 201 to 157 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.80% or 0.39 to $49.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.14% or 0.58 to hit $51.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.80 to trade at $1257.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.1656, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8926.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 93.91.
