Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which rose 2.09% or 0.09 points to trade at 4.19 at the close. Atlantia (MI:ATL) added 1.66% or 0.40 points to end at 24.53 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 1.47% or 0.48 points to 33.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 4.35% or 0.116 points to trade at 2.550 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) declined 3.64% or 0.530 points to end at 14.050 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) shed 3.02% or 0.4200 points to 13.5100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 234 to 119 and 12 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.32% or 0.17 to $53.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $56.00 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.42% or 17.85 to trade at $1271.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.0612, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8503.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.62.
