Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 1.43% or 0.100 points to trade at 7.115 at the close. Prysmian (MI:PRY) added 1.32% or 0.29 points to end at 22.22 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 0.26% or 0.07 points to 27.16 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 6.40% or 0.0128 points to trade at 0.1872 in late trade. Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) declined 5.89% or 0.0210 points to end at 0.3357 and Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) shed 4.54% or 0.095 points to 1.999.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 289 to 105 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.11% or 0.05 to $43.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.39% or 0.18 to hit $45.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.55 to trade at $1318.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1168, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8601.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.90.
