Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which rose 0.53% or 0.04 points to trade at 6.59 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 0.47% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.8550 and A2A (MI:A2) was up 0.47% or 0.006 points to 1.287 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which lost 6.29% or 0.2800 points to trade at 4.1680 in late trade. Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) declined 4.73% or 0.0245 points to end at 0.4935 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) shed 4.31% or 0.196 points to 4.352.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 275 to 124 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.47% or 0.23 to $48.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.57% or 7.00 to trade at $1210.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1170, while EUR/GBP rose 1.06% to 0.7752.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.52.
