Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 3.02% or 1.800 points to trade at 61.330 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 3.00% or 0.69 points to end at 23.67 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 2.82% or 0.710 points to 25.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which lost 2.09% or 1.070 points to trade at 50.010 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) declined 1.68% or 1.14 points to end at 66.55 and America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) shed 1.03% or 0.160 points to 15.410.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 198 to 106 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.17% or 2.20 to $1301.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.82% or 1.88 to hit $68.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.18% or 2.40 to trade at $77.89 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.50% to 19.7375, while EUR/MXN rose 0.62% to 23.0289.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 94.04.
