Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 2.59% or 0.580 points to trade at 22.970 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) added 2.02% or 6.81 points to end at 343.14 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 1.94% or 1.880 points to 98.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 3.00% or 0.500 points to trade at 16.140 in late trade. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 2.38% or 2.82 points to end at 115.59 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) shed 2.25% or 0.760 points to 33.050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 179 to 79 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.38% or 4.80 to $1243.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.13% or 0.65 to hit $58.01 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $64.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.08% to 19.0574, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 22.4339.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.94.
