Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 4.85% or 0.880 points to trade at 19.010 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 3.95% or 13.09 points to end at 344.47 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) was up 3.62% or 0.950 points to 27.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which lost 0.89% or 0.740 points to trade at 82.200 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 0.82% or 0.460 points to end at 55.350 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 0.51% or 0.190 points to 37.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 120 to 118 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.00% or 12.40 to $1254.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.47 to trade at $77.77 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 2.42% to 19.4744, while EUR/MXN fell 2.24% to 22.7133.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 94.31.
