Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 3.07% or 1.710 points to trade at 57.340 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.13% or 0.890 points to end at 42.630 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) was up 2.05% or 0.750 points to 37.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 2.23% or 2.710 points to trade at 118.900 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.18% or 17.68 points to end at 795.00 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 1.89% or 2.160 points to 112.120.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 81 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.30% or 3.81 to $1250.49 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.69% or 1.71 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 3.50% or 1.70 to trade at $50.30 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.44% to 17.8068, while EUR/MXN rose 0.47% to 20.7374.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.93.
