Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were BanRegio Grupo Financiero SAB de CV (MX:RA), which rose 2.74% or 2.84 points to trade at 106.44 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) added 2.33% or 1.960 points to end at 86.060 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 2.09% or 10.80 points to 528.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which lost 6.00% or 4.050 points to trade at 63.450 in late trade. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) declined 2.91% or 0.820 points to end at 27.380 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) shed 2.70% or 4.71 points to 170.04.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 183 to 109 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.96% or 25.70 to $1282.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.66% or 2.45 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.61% or 2.74 to trade at $73.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.03% to 20.6536, while EUR/MXN fell 0.79% to 23.9715.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.79.
