Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.79% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.06% or 0.240 points to trade at 11.910 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 1.31% or 1.02 points to end at 79.09 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 1.12% or 0.770 points to 69.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which lost 6.01% or 3.125 points to trade at 48.875 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 4.97% or 1.720 points to end at 32.890 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 3.56% or 0.76 points to 20.59.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 143 to 136 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.11% or 1.40 to $1292.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.81% or 1.29 to hit $72.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.34% or 1.05 to trade at $79.56 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.62% to 19.8259, while EUR/MXN fell 0.46% to 23.3828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.42.
