Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 3.29% or 1.020 points to trade at 32.000 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 2.65% or 1.500 points to end at 58.110 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 0.69% or 0.290 points to 42.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 3.37% or 1.090 points to trade at 31.280 in late trade. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) declined 2.64% or 4.59 points to end at 169.40 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 2.37% or 0.670 points to 27.640.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 159 to 141 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.26% or 3.25 to $1252.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.32% or 1.12 to hit $49.49 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.06% or 1.06 to trade at $52.48 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.78% to 18.6900, while EUR/MXN fell 2.20% to 20.1249.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 99.77.
