Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 2.00% or 0.29 points to trade at 14.79 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 1.69% or 0.34 points to end at 20.80 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) was up 1.31% or 0.39 points to 29.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which lost 1.34% or 0.68 points to trade at 49.87 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.12% or 0.750 points to end at 66.500 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 0.96% or 0.23 points to 23.73.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 52 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.66% to 10.83.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.58% or 0.27 to $46.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 5.95 to trade at $1233.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1474, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 94.95.
