Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 3.15% or 1.71 points to trade at 56.02 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 1.12% or 2.40 points to end at 215.85 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was up 0.82% or 0.038 points to 4.672 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which lost 1.74% or 0.89 points to trade at 50.20 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.27% or 0.850 points to end at 66.050 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 1.17% or 0.24 points to 20.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.78% to 12.95.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $47.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 4.72 to trade at $1223.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1350, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 95.99.
