Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were DnB ASA (OSLO:DNB), which rose 4.63% or 5.9 points to trade at 133.3 at the close. Meanwhile, Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA) added 4.30% or 2.80 points to end at 67.90 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC) was up 4.16% or 13.3 points to 332.8 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE), which fell 5.64% or 3.1 points to trade at 51.9 at the close. Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) declined 2.82% or 0.04 points to end at 1.48 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) was down 2.64% or 1.06 points to 39.13.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 108 to 71 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.64% or 3.1 to 51.9. Shares in Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.82% or 0.04 to 1.48. Shares in Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC) rose to all time highs; up 4.16% or 13.3 to 332.8.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $52.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.20% or 0.12 to hit $58.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.24% or 2.80 to trade at $1162.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.68% to 8.9232, while USD/NOK fell 1.72% to 8.0002.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.66% at 96.03.
