Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, S&P Lima Juniors and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 3.03% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.340 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 2.35% or 0.020 points to end at 0.870 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.00% or 0.010 points to 0.510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferreyros (LM:FER), which lost 1.58% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.870 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 1.47% or 0.050 points to end at 3.350 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) shed 1.32% or 0.080 points to 5.960.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 13 to 9 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.85% or 0.46 to $53.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.94% or 0.53 to hit $56.13 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1239.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.05% to 3.2452, while EUR/PEN fell 0.19% to 3.4204.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 101.24.
