Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which rose 3.29% or 1.14 points to trade at 35.80 at the close. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) added 3.16% or 0.530 points to end at 17.280 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 2.68% or 0.300 points to 11.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 16.67% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.0500 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 5.20% or 0.013 points to end at 0.237 and Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) shed 2.94% or 0.020 points to 0.660.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 13 to 7 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.47% or 0.66 to $44.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $46.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.90% or 11.28 to trade at $1245.22 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2670, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6689.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 97.23.
