Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa de Distribucion Electrica de Lima Norte SAA (LM:ENE), which rose 3.70% or 0.200 points to trade at 5.600 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 2.96% or 0.330 points to end at 11.480 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 2.74% or 0.004 points to 0.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM:REL), which lost 4.51% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.233 in late trade. Credicorp (LM:BAP) declined 2.20% or 3.500 points to end at 155.700 and Unacem (LM:CEL) shed 1.95% or 0.050 points to 2.510.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.06% or 0.54 to $51.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.80% or 0.43 to hit $54.37 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.69% or 8.10 to trade at $1177.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.01% to 3.4178, while EUR/PEN rose 0.33% to 3.6397.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 100.71.
