Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 2.50% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.369 at the close. ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) added 1.02% or 0.080 points to end at 7.900 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 0.83% or 0.001 points to 0.121 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which lost 6.59% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.09 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 5.66% or 0.015 points to end at 0.250 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) shed 4.88% or 1.76 points to 34.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 4 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.03% or 0.46 to $44.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $46.79 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.55% or 19.78 to trade at $1256.12 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2775, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6512.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 97.50.
