Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 8.33% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.650 at the close. Meanwhile, Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 2.17% or 0.62 points to end at 29.22 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 1.70% or 0.070 points to 4.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sider (LM:SID), which fell 1.71% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.172 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 1.49% or 0.040 points to end at 2.640 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was down 1.35% or 0.010 points to 0.730.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 15 to 5 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.27% or 0.14 to $53.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.34% or 0.20 to hit $58.88 a barrel, while the August Gold contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1154.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.16% to 3.1785, while EUR/PEN fell 0.68% to 3.4974.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.80.
