Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which rose 5.00% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 3.50% or 0.210 points to end at 6.210 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 2.68% or 0.70 points to 26.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which fell 11.43% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.310 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 6.67% or 0.050 points to end at 0.700 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 3.74% or 0.014 points to 0.360.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 14 to 7 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Trevali Mining (LM:TV) fell to all time lows; down 11.43% or 0.040 to 0.310. Shares in Minsur (LM:MINi) fell to all time lows; losing 6.67% or 0.050 to 0.700.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.42% or 0.63 to $45.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.14% or 0.55 to hit $48.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.84% or 20.80 to trade at $1152.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.02% to 3.2175, while EUR/PEN rose 0.86% to 3.6199.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 96.12.
