Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Property, Holding Firms and Mining & Oil sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 1.13% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS), which rose 4.83% or 3.500 points to trade at 76.000 at the close. GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) added 3.36% or 39.00 points to end at 1199.00 and Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) was up 3.07% or 1.40 points to 47.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP), which lost 1.47% or 0.60 points to trade at 40.10 in late trade. Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) declined 0.76% or 0.080 points to end at 10.400 and Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) shed 0.75% or 15.00 points to 1980.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 84 and 63 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.34 to $1328.34 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.07 to trade at $55.09 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.04% to 7.8049, while USD/PHP rose 0.34% to 51.150.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 92.32.
