Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Property and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which rose 2.75% or 2.100 points to trade at 78.400 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 2.45% or 2.8000 points to end at 117.0000 and Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) was up 1.97% or 0.750 points to 38.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which lost 2.65% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.520 in late trade. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) declined 2.44% or 2.000 points to end at 80.000 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) shed 1.72% or 11.500 points to 656.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 82 and 53 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.31% or 4.05 to $1322.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.13% or 0.94 to hit $44.99 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 0.85 to trade at $46.73 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.10% to 7.1765, while USD/PHP rose 0.09% to 47.885.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 96.01.
