Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Property and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 5.57% or 11.40 points to trade at 216.00 at the close. PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) added 5.09% or 88.00 points to end at 1816.00 and Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) was up 2.92% or 1.150 points to 40.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 2.76% or 33.00 points to trade at 1162.00 in late trade. San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) declined 1.85% or 2.00 points to end at 106.00 and Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) shed 1.48% or 2.40 points to 159.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 82 and 47 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.44% or 5.60 to $1266.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.43% or 0.69 to hit $49.01 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.62 to trade at $51.38 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.02% to 7.3099, while USD/PHP fell 0.04% to 49.755.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 97.05.
