Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Property and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were San Miguel Cor (PS:SMC), which rose 0.91% or 0.400 points to trade at 44.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Philex Mining (PS:PX) added 0.60% or 0.030 points to end at 5.000 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 0.47% or 0.020 points to 4.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intl Container (PS:ICT), which fell 7.06% or 6.000 points to trade at 79.000 at the close. Sm Prime Hldgs (PS:SMPH) declined 4.78% or 1.000 points to end at 19.900 and Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) was down 4.31% or 0.270 points to 6.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 125 to 59 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Intl Container (PS:ICT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.06% or 6.000 to 79.000. Shares in Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.31% or 0.270 to 6.000.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.50 to $1126.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.85% or 0.40 to hit $46.76 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.33 to trade at $49.41 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.26% to 7.3345, while USD/PHP rose 0.50% to 46.822.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.61.
