Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 4.59% or 2.48 points to trade at 56.49 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 4.02% or 4.20 points to end at 108.67 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 3.12% or 2.05 points to 67.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which lost 2.03% or 1.00 points to trade at 48.28 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.56% or 0.41 points to end at 25.87 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) shed 1.46% or 4.60 points to 309.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 285 to 233 and 184 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.55% or 0.26 to $47.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.24% or 0.12 to hit $49.59 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.09% or 14.00 to trade at $1296.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.16% to 4.1927, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.7206.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 96.56.
