Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 0.80% or 0.55 points to trade at 69.66 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 0.39% or 0.010 points to end at 2.580 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 0.38% or 0.65 points to 170.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 5.98% or 2.34 points to trade at 36.78 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 5.60% or 4.04 points to end at 68.14 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 4.91% or 15.75 points to 305.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 328 to 179 and 168 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.99% or 0.49 to $49.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.46% or 0.23 to hit $50.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1217.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.32% to 4.3842, while USD/PLN fell 0.33% to 3.9352.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.75.
