Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 3.15% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.600 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 2.20% or 0.29 points to end at 13.48 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.92% or 0.60 points to 31.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which lost 3.83% or 0.180 points to trade at 4.520 in late trade. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) declined 2.21% or 1.80 points to end at 79.70 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 2.00% or 0.96 points to 46.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 248 to 222 and 192 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.75% or 1.25 to $44.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.79% or 1.34 to hit $46.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.93% or 11.37 to trade at $1211.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.11% to 4.2337, while USD/PLN rose 0.09% to 3.7137.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.81.
