Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM), which rose 5.06% or 3.95 points to trade at 81.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 4.12% or 3.50 points to end at 88.50 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 3.05% or 0.40 points to 13.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 6.39% or 3.88 points to trade at 56.80 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 5.79% or 0.70 points to end at 11.40 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was down 1.23% or 4.83 points to 388.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 338 to 217 and 120 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.29% or 0.13 to $45.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.53% or 0.26 to hit $48.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.10% or 12.40 to trade at $1114.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.2466, while USD/PLN rose 0.98% to 3.8028.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 96.50.
