Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 1.84% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.497 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 1.58% or 0.0450 points to end at 2.9010 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.13% or 0.0100 points to 0.8930 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REN (LS:RENE), which lost 1.60% or 0.0440 points to trade at 2.7030 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.41% or 0.200 points to end at 14.000 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.14% or 0.1950 points to 16.9750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.12% or 0.06 to $49.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.38% or 4.62 to trade at $1223.82 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1349, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 96.00.
