Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 15.34% or 0.0520 points to trade at 0.3910 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.64% or 0.0900 points to end at 3.5000 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 2.52% or 0.229 points to 9.325 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which lost 12.38% or 0.1300 points to trade at 0.9200 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.57% or 0.0350 points to end at 6.1090 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 0.27% or 0.0110 points to 4.0840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 25 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.91% or 0.50 to $55.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.39% or 0.73 to hit $53.07 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.35% or 4.35 to trade at $1235.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.0663, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8517.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 100.55.
