Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 1.17% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.9540 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.87% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.9280 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was up 0.62% or 0.020 points to 3.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REN (LS:RENE), which lost 2.44% or 0.0710 points to trade at 2.8410 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.04% or 0.0890 points to end at 4.2660 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) shed 1.96% or 0.010 points to 0.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 1.78% or 0.80 to $45.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.48% or 0.63 to hit $43.16 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 6.46 to trade at $1252.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8804.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.27.
