Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.39% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which rose 3.75% or 0.1045 points to trade at 2.8895 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 3.31% or 3.01 points to end at 94.00 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 2.94% or 3.74 points to 130.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX:MVID), which lost 4.61% or 16.80 points to trade at 348.00 in late trade. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 3.18% or 2.400 points to end at 73.000 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) shed 2.23% or 0.0211 points to 0.9240.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 93 and 29 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 3.17% to 26.380.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.75 to $1326.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $47.37 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.12 to trade at $49.55 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.11% to 64.6135, while EUR/RUB fell 0.78% to 72.593.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 95.18.
