Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 7.51% or 40.5 points to trade at 580.0 at the close. MMK (MCX:MAGN) added 2.71% or 1.230 points to end at 46.560 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) was up 2.55% or 4350 points to 174800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN), which lost 2.97% or 23.5 points to trade at 766.5 in late trade. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 1.76% or 10.90 points to end at 608.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) shed 1.53% or 11.70 points to 754.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 131 to 85 and 19 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.04% to 27.130.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1314.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.20% or 0.84 to hit $70.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.63% or 1.22 to trade at $76.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.32% to 62.7456, while EUR/RUB rose 0.04% to 74.8650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 92.54.
