Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 3.68% or 20.5 points to trade at 577.5 at the close. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) added 2.98% or 1.000 points to end at 34.540 and GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) was up 2.91% or 0.0212 points to 0.7500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX:MVID), which lost 2.33% or 10.10 points to trade at 424.00 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 1.91% or 3.00 points to end at 154.25 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) shed 1.43% or 63.0 points to 4330.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 71 and 24 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.05% to 22.550.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.79% or 10.70 to $1344.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $65.50 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $69.62 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.32% to 57.3508, while EUR/RUB rose 0.04% to 71.1800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 88.92.
