Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Power and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM), which rose 5.22% or 3.67 points to trade at 73.95 at the close. PIK (MCX:PIKK) added 4.27% or 13.60 points to end at 331.80 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 2.44% or 16.00 points to 672.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p), which lost 6.06% or 11.60 points to trade at 179.90 in late trade. Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER) declined 5.56% or 11.92 points to end at 202.51 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) shed 3.62% or 3.60 points to 95.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 97 and 22 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.77% to 24.260.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.24% or 3.00 to $1267.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.69% or 0.47 to hit $68.11 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.61% or 1.21 to trade at $74.11 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.03% to 62.8992, while EUR/RUB rose 0.33% to 73.5643.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.04.
