Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Diversified Holdings and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. First Capital Holdings PLC (CM:CFVF) added 13.15% or 2.80 points to end at 24.10 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) was up 12.98% or 78.00 points to 679.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL), which lost 10.00% or 7.30 points to trade at 65.70 in late trade. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) declined 7.65% or 3.90 points to end at 47.10 and Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) shed 6.31% or 0.70 points to 10.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 80 and 46 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.95% or 0.41 to $42.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.62% or 0.28 to hit $44.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1327.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 191.435, while USD/LKR fell 0.02% to 146.165.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 97.08.
