Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI), which rose 19.52% or 28.40 points to trade at 173.90 at the close. Abans Finance PLC (CM:AFSL) added 9.17% or 3.10 points to end at 36.90 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 15.73% or 261.30 points to trade at 1399.90 in late trade. F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) declined 8.33% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) shed 6.67% or 80.00 points to 1120.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 58 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.87% or 0.44 to $51.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.61% or 0.33 to hit $54.22 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.45 to trade at $1170.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.76% to 190.120, while USD/LKR rose 1.59% to 151.085.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 101.15.
