Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Power & Energy and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.22% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 20.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC (CM:CEYL) was up 12.50% or 0.500 points to 4.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 24.81% or 3350.00 points to trade at 10150.00 in late trade. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) declined 14.43% or 178.70 points to end at 1060.00 and Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) shed 10.98% or 2.90 points to 23.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 86 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $46.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $49.37 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.77 to trade at $1247.27 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.42% to 200.050, while USD/LKR rose 1.06% to 153.650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.95.
