Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Machinery and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348), which rose 9.93% or 4.25 points to trade at 47.05 at the close. Everspring Industry Co Ltd (TW:2390) added 9.88% or 1.20 points to end at 13.35 and Airtac International Group (TW:1590) was up 9.88% or 24.50 points to 272.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which lost 8.11% or 1.05 points to trade at 11.90 in late trade. Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) declined 5.87% or 0.32 points to end at 5.13 and Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) shed 4.18% or 0.50 points to 11.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 618 to 175 and 118 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.19% or 0.13 to $68.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $78.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1211.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.05% to 30.750, while TWD/CNY rose 0.27% to 0.2242.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 94.44.
