Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Electricity, Transport and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which rose 8.59% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.770 at the close. Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) added 5.32% or 0.050 points to end at 0.990 and Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) was up 5.22% or 0.230 points to 4.640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA), which lost 1.82% or 0.66 points to trade at 35.58 in late trade. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) declined 1.72% or 0.56 points to end at 32.08 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) shed 1.48% or 0.56 points to 37.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 252 to 94 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 1.90 to $1321.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.38% or 0.88 to hit $64.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.85% or 0.59 to trade at $69.79 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.55% to 3.7788, while EUR/TRY rose 0.34% to 4.5566.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 91.62.
