Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Banking and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.05% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which rose 7.28% or 2.32 points to trade at 34.20 at the close. Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) added 6.19% or 0.060 points to end at 1.030 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 5.86% or 0.430 points to 7.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS), which lost 2.26% or 0.580 points to trade at 25.060 in late trade. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) declined 1.78% or 0.58 points to end at 32.06 and Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL) shed 1.72% or 0.29 points to 16.57.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 230 to 128 and 45 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.10% or 14.70 to $1351.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.26% or 0.81 to hit $65.28 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.35 to trade at $70.31 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.79% to 3.7376, while EUR/TRY fell 0.15% to 4.6283.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.80% at 89.16.
