Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Electricity and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were EIS Eczacibasi Ilac Sinai ve Finansal Yatirimlar Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ECILC), which rose 5.25% or 0.240 points to trade at 4.810 at the close. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) added 4.22% or 0.180 points to end at 4.450 and Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) was up 3.69% or 0.100 points to 2.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Erbosan Erciyas Boru Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:ERBOS), which lost 4.41% or 3.10 points to trade at 67.25 in late trade. Alarko Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:ALGYO) declined 3.21% or 1.36 points to end at 40.98 and GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO) shed 2.99% or 0.020 points to 0.650.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 215 to 136 and 56 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.35% or 4.34 to $1244.76 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.76% or 0.34 to hit $45.08 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.27 to trade at $47.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.31% to 3.5236, while EUR/TRY rose 0.74% to 4.0271.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 95.48.
