Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Metals and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 2.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 5.00% or 0.83 points to trade at 17.42 at the close. Haci Omer Sabanci Holding AS (IS:SAHOL) added 3.09% or 0.33 points to end at 11.00 and Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) was up 2.24% or 0.22 points to 10.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 19.97% or 1.330 points to trade at 5.330 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) declined 11.94% or 0.91 points to end at 6.71 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) shed 11.36% or 5.14 points to 40.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 319 to 44 and 38 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.76 to $1279.14 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.45% or 0.25 to hit $55.45 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.26 to trade at $61.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.08% to 3.8887, while EUR/TRY rose 0.11% to 4.5904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 93.73.
