Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Tourism, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which rose 4.20% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Aygaz AS (IS:AYGAZ) added 3.43% or 0.53 points to end at 15.96 and Akenerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:AKENR) was up 3.37% or 0.030 points to 0.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which lost 6.58% or 2.10 points to trade at 29.80 in late trade. Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS (IS:DOAS) declined 3.85% or 0.36 points to end at 8.98 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) shed 2.70% or 1.06 points to 38.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 208 to 139 and 57 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.67% or 20.70 to $1257.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.38% or 0.67 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 0.82 to trade at $52.47 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.55% to 3.5583, while EUR/TRY rose 1.13% to 3.9676.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 97.56.
