Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs, Construction & Materials and Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Aberdeen Asset Management PLC (L:ADN), which rose 1.81% or 6.30 points to trade at 353.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Weir Group PLC (L:WEIR) added 1.76% or 20.00 points to end at 1153.00 and Inmarsat PLC (L:ISA) was up 0.90% or 9.00 points to 1014.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Glencore PLC (L:GLEN), which fell 5.31% or 6.1500 points to trade at 109.7000 at the close. InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (L:IHG) declined 4.83% or 134.00 points to end at 2640.00 and Intu Properties PLC (L:INTUP) was down 3.68% or 12.40 points to 324.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1453 to 721 and 423 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.10 to $1088.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.06% or 0.47 to hit $43.82 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.24 to trade at $47.92 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.42% to 1.5116, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7120.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 99.05.
